Fish made using my Green Dragon Skin fabric! My Green Dragon Skin swatch was just the right size to make a stuffed fish. My cats absolutely adore it! It was pretty simple to make; just cut out two fish shapes, place right sides together, and sew all the way around leaving a small gap. Flip the fish right side out, stuff, and sew closed. I added button eyes, and "quilted" on a few details. That's it.  Note: if you are making a cat toy be sure that buttons are sewn on very securely, and even then keep an eye on the buttons since hard play can loosen them. I made the small Sweet Bear plush from my test swatch and almost immediately gave it to my cat Richard because he really wanted it. There was a brief attempt to take pictures of it, but they didn't really turn out well. Instead of posting some sorry pictures, I've decided to just let Richard show you how nicely it turned out. A final note to how much Richard loves his Sweet Bear he's taken to sleeping with it.

I started with an old pair of black cargo pants. It took a good solid stretch of time with my new seam ripper and scissors to break them down into swatches of usable fabric. An old forgotten pillow that had long since gone flat, quickly lost its stuffing in my scissor happy mood. I chose to discard the oxidized fabric for aesthetic reasons. I didn't have a pattern to go by, so I drew up my own crude pattern pieces on regular notebook paper and cut them out, pinned them to the fabric, and again whipped out my trusty scissors. Using the basic black for most of the pieces, the mane and tip of the tail were cut out from the unused portion of lion botanical fabric from an earlier project to give some color.
